More About Me

Hello, again!

Honestly, I'm writing this because I feel like posting again. But, I fear I'll get questions about myself if (or hopefully, WHEN) I get readers.

So, here it goes.

As stated before, I'm an upcoming junior in high school. I'll be turning sixteen on the 31st of October (Yes, that's Halloween for my confused readers).

I live in southern California, USA. I've lived here and in the same house for my whole life. I'm allergic to lots of things, including tree nuts, avocado, cats, raw carrots (yes, I can eat them cooked. Don't even ask how that happens. I have no idea), and cantaloupe. Entirely random, and I'm not entirely sure what the heck happened there.

I love books! I live off of them as one might live off of food (though I love that, too). My first favorite books were the Magic Tree House series, and I graduated to Harry Potter and forward. Currently, I count the Harry Potter series, Paper Towns (John Green), the Divergent soon-to-be-trilogy, the Last Dragon Chronicles (Chris D'Lacey), and several others to be among my favorite books. Honestly, I love too many books to actually choose a favorite. I could go on and on about favorite books, and am dying to name a few other books to that list, but I won't for the sake of your eyes.

I'm into fitness (as in, working out, running, that sort of thing). I'm on Tumblr as a fitness blogger (though it's not my primary blog). I definitely struggle with the food part, and haven't done anything the past week due to a cold (asthma and sickness don't work together real well). Early morning runs start tomorrow!

I'm a gymnast! I don't compete at in the junior Olympic competitions, rather, my team and I compete "for fun." I do ALL events, before you ask. We're required to. Most gymnasts are.

Er... Well, I'm attempting to think of more to tell you lot to be honest.

Music! My favorite bands are All Time Low, The Summer Set, and Paramore. I'm honestly in love with Hayley Williams and I don't know if I want to be her or be on her (to quote Jenna Marbles). Also, I want her hair. And her clothes. Okay, maybe I want to be her. Shush.

Fandom wise, I'm in the SuperPotterWhoLock fandom (for those of you who don't know that's Supernatural, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and Sherlock all rolled into one). I'm also in love with the BBC show Merlin (Sh! I'm still in season 5, since it only just came out on Netflix!), and... I don't even know.

Attractive people make me nervous.
I'm a major nerd. (I bought Doctor Who socks yesterday! Squee!)
Math and Chemistry are my arch-nemeses.
I have a younger brother.
I appreciate any feedback you may have.

Thank you all!

x Jae

Welcome!

Hello, there!

Welcome to my blog. I'm fairly new to this (unless you count Tumblr!), so please bear with me while I get the hang of this.
In essence, this will be a book review blog; but I'm sure you'll find posts about my daily frustrations or pet peeves or new occurrences in my life as well.

For one, this is to help me practice my writing skills! I'm going to be a junior in high school, but I love to write and my dream (as it is with many writers I know) is to be a novelist. Therefore, if you notice any spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors, please inform me! I actually don't mind at all, and I may not have proofread my post (which is highly likely).

Second off, I'm a highly distractable person (is that a word?!). This leads to my not checking over what I've already posted, not proofreading, etc etc. You get the idea. My apologies!

Third (and hopefully lastly), I AM A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL. This means I'll be dealing with mountain loads of homework, which includes the ever-suffering task of unsolvable math problems and unending history notes and drumline practice (Woo!). That means I don't know how often I'll be able to post! Obviously I'm going to be trying to get posts up as quickly as possible. That means I might read really really shitty, short novels. And you'll have to live with my review of THAT until I can find an acceptable, interesting book to read.

Finally (and I actually mean it this time), I do have summer reading, as I'm going into an AP English class. That means I'll be reading other books AROUND my summer reading book (A.K.A. East of Eden by John Steinbeck). While it's a fairly interesting book (to me, at least), I have to somehow complete the task of reading all 601 pages by the end of summer while also completing a dialectical journal of 20 quotes and an online scavenger hunt. That means that I'm going to take much much longer than usual to complete my personal book (the one I'll be reviewing). So I love patient people! (Even though I'm not one myself. At all. In no way do I have patience.) I also love helpful people who are willing to submit their own reviews for me to post! You'll get credit, and linked to (if you have a link). My point is, I'm going to post a review as soon as I can for a book I'll finish ASAP. Sound good?
Great!

So, through all of that, the overarching idea is that you'll need to be patient with me. School work come September third, summer reading homework currently, drumline practice during both school and summer, and various miscellaneous activities may all put off my reading a book or writing a review or otherwise updating you guys on my personal life.

So, if I haven't scared you off with my youth or much-too-long introduction, you may proceed to enjoy my blog!

xx Jae
